Welcome to the bandsforlabels.com band questionnaire. In order to find the label that best fits your music needs, we need you to answer a few questions. There are two parts to this questionnaire: general questions and essay questions. Please answer all the questions as honestly as possible. If a question seems vague, mark the closest answer. In the essay section, be as specific as possible. This is your opportunity to explain your artistic goals and objectives. Your essay answers will help prospective labels determine how your distinct qualities meet their needs. Take your time with each question, and remember, you can always go back and edit your profile.

Essay Questions
This is the section where you can be as specific as you like.  (i.e. style of music you play, who you have worked with, who produced your last CD etc). Answer all of the questions as best as you can and try not to miss any of them.

Describe your music. This is an opportunity to be more specific about your band (i.e. are you Christian Death Metal?)

What are the bands/artists goals in 2 years? In 5 years?

Talk about your success stories. Have you gotten on the warp tour side stage? Did you play a show with a national known act? Did you have the opportunity to have your songs played on the radio?

Describe your ideal record company. What do you expect out of a label that supports your band/artist?

Explain how you go about promoting yourself. What approach do you take and how do you get yourself noticed by your target audience? Do you use outside promotion, etc?

Describe your previous successes as a band member/artist. Are you or anyone in the band better known in a previous band? What kind of contacts do you have in the industry?

Does anyone in the group have any special attributes that add to the validity of the success of the band/artist (i.e. graphic design experience, screen printing, computer graphic knowledge, etc)? This could come in handy when bartering for a good deal with a label.
